We are so overjoyed to be a part of the Women Owning Woodlands project!
A collaborative effort of the National Woodland Owners Association (NWOA) and the USDA Forest Service, they make information, events, resources, and personal stories available to woodland owners and forest practitioners. The goal is to support women who manage their own woodlands, those in forest leadership and all those who facilitate stewardship of forests. Resources are available to all people (yes, men too!) to encourage sustainable forest management practices.
They offer webinars, chainsaw classes, blogs, and live events. You can learn about everything from soil conservation to attracting pollinators. This is where women come together to learn, create, and grow (both their woodlands and themselves!).
National Woodlands, a magazine of the National Woodland Owners Association, featured an article in the First Quarter 2023 edition that highlights the inaugural Women’s Forest Congress. Check it out here. By the way, not only was I there, I’m mentioned in the article!
